Our new Password Self
Service website is available for you to update your Wildcat password to meet our new heightened
security requirements. When updating, challenge questions will need to be
created allowing you in the future to reset a forgotten or expiring password.
Yes that’s right; a call to the IT Service Desk will no longer be required to
reset your Wildcat password:
Operating System
Note**
Windows Users with Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox web
browsers should enable Pop-ups for all Weber web sites.
Mac Users may
have problems using Safari. We recommend that you download and install Mozilla
Firefox
**If
you are having problems logging in with your current
Wildcat ID and password, please complete Step 1.
**If
you know your username and password are working in the
WSU Current Student portal, Move on to complete Steps 2
and 3.
**If
you are using the Internet Explorer browser, you may
have to repeat this process. It works consistently with
Mozilla Firefox.
Step 1: Get a Temporary
Password, if needed
- Go to:
https://portalapps.weber.edu/getwcid/ and enter the requested
information to display your Wildcat ID and to get a temporary password.
WRITE DOWN the temporary password.
- Students will use your Wildcat ID and the temporary password to log
in and complete sections 1, 2 and 3
Step 2: Wildcat Password Creation
With your current Wildcat ID (GroupWise or Wildcat
Mail username) and password login at:
http://wildcatid.weber.edu/vo
**
You may be presented with the Challenge
Question screen asking you to set your challenge
questions first.
- Answer the first challenge question
- Enter a second challenge question of your
choice and the answer
- Click SUBMIT and continue as instructed
below
If you click SUBMIT
and it cycles back to the Login screen, you may
need to complete and submit this 2 to 3 times
before it moves you to the HOME page as shown
below. DON'T GIVE UP!
If you are asked to login and completed
the challenge questions MORE than 3 times, you
may be caught in a loop due to the Browser or a
pop-up blocker. See the link above for
information on how to enable pop-ups for this
website only.
Once you get to the HOME page,
- Click on the lock icon at the top of the
page

Complete all
three areas on the page, beginning at the top
and clicking on SUBMIT after EACH SECTION unless
you completed one of these sections when you
logged in; then you may skip that section
below.
Area 1)
Change your password according to the
specified criteria and
Submit

- Successful change message should
display

Area 2)
Create a Password Hint and
Submit

Area 3)
(If completed previously, you do NOT
need to do this again. Simply verify
that your User-defined challenge
question is still entered.)
Set two challenge questions, one the
system provides - and you answer, and
the second one you create. Be prepared
to create a question that ONLY YOU know
the answer to. Something that doesn't
change, so you won't forget your answer,
and create a question that is unique to
you.
Submit.
**Note: Be
sure to create a Challenge Question
where only you know the answer and the
answer stays the same.

Step 3:
Verification
(Students Only)
Go to the following
and check to ensure
your new password is
working correctly:
- Log into your Wildcat Mail account
- Log into the Current Students portal (using your Wildcat ID and new
password)
- Log into Vista if you are a student needing to access a class
- Log into Chi-Tester
- Finally, if all of these recognize your new password, you should be
set.
Students should be able to return to this website at any time to
change or update their password as long as they know what it is. If they
have forgotten the password, they will only need to answer the two
challenge questions to reset the password.
If you into any problems or need a
clarification on any step of the process, please call our IT Service
Desk at x7777.
